Craft and Christmas Notes

The mobius scarf for my mother is done. This means I can now concentrate on her socks. I managed to add about an inch to the ribbing for sock #1 last night.

The Christmas tree is up and mostly decorated. I say mostly because we had a slight snufu involving crunching of lights on the bottom string during setup. We’ve apparently gone through all of our extras, and no one seems to make our kind of lights anymore, except in strings of 100. So we either have to restring, or try to fit 100 on the bottom of the tree, and we left that for this weekend. Which means I have Christmas tree detritus strewn throughout my house that I’ll be looking after tomorrow.

I have to sit down tomorrow and really think about gifts. My BF’s family is coming up here for Christmas, so I should really do something for his brothers, and I have no idea what that should be. It’s bad enough to trying to think of something to get for his parents and my father and his partner, who are all the kind of people that buy what they want when they want, leaving you grasping at straws when you want to get them something. At least I’ve taken care of my sister and my mother. That just leaves my two brothers. One of them lives in MI, so he always gets a Borders GC. I still have to figure out what to do for my younger brother. My friends have all gotten to the point where it’s easier to ply each other with food, so I just have to think about making some cookies to bring to the New Year’s party.

I also have to do my cards. The boxes are all out, and my list from last year is printed and ready to go. I should be able to start that tonight.

Is it just me, or does it already seem like there’s not enough time in this month?
