I cast on a Fetching mitt last night, and next thing I knew, I was about half way through it. Score one for the pattern. Speed is good. The cables (my first) were also much less scary than I’d built them up to be in my head.
I also swatched out my Sitcom Chic sweater, and hit gauge. Hurray! I really like the yarn I got (Knit Pick’s ShineWorsted). It’s much softer than what I was expecting for a mostly cotton yarn. I’m not sure when I’m going to actually cast on the sweater, probably after I finish up the Fetching and Monkey socks, and once I at least get the Foliage hat recast on. I tried it again on Friday night, but I think I need to try it some weekend day morning when my head is clear (either that or wait until my current project at work is over, and my brain is again my own on work nights. Probably faster to try it on a weekend.)
