I went on a bit a bender on Thursday night (coincidently while on a bender watching Michael Palin’s Full Circle), and finished the left Fetching mitt redux. I added five rows above the thumb before knitting the cable row, which added the length I needed to get it to hit my knuckles where I wanted it to. I might have actually been able to pull off only four additional rows, but five certainly isn’t too much. Unfortunately, while the fit was better the second time around, for some reason, this version laddered quite noticeably, while the last didn’t. This isn’t a huge deal, as I’m planning to use these at home, but I’ll definitely pay more attention to that the next time. (I’m actually wearing the completed one right now, as it’s oddly cold in here, despite the first appearance of the sun in a week. It’s quite comfortable for typing, and my left hand is at least warm).
I also managed to get the ribbing and a few rows done on my Sitcom Chic sweater. This of course means that I’m completely behind in starting Project Spectrum. I’m still waiting for my Knitpicks order with the yarn for one of my Fire projects. (It shipped Tuesday, so I certainly hope it shows up today.) My other project (the Sunset Quilt) has been a bit derailed by some overtime at work I ended up doing last weekend, which was when I had intended to start it. I’ve dedicated tomorrow to that, so hopefully I’ll have something to post on that later.
In the meantime, I’m doing some much needed relaxing at the computer with a cuppa and some freshly made orange chocolate chip muffins.
