Knitting Notes

Since it was snowing yesterday, and there wasn’t really much point in planning to do anything out of the house, I figured the least I could do was finish off the Lil Devil Baby Hat I’ve been making for a coworker’s forthcoming baby girl. It’s done in Firecracker Heather Wool of the Andes from Knitpicks. In hindsight, I probably would have tried for something just a smidge softer, yarn-wise. It’s not so bad that I won’t feel right giving the hat away, but it’s definitely something I’ll keep in mind next time I make one of these, and it is a cute enough pattern I may very well be forced to make one again.

This was my first experience with icords, and I have to say, they’re pretty easy. Heck, they’re easy enough it’s shockingly easy to make them too long when one just keeps knitting and knitting and knitting because it’s so quick to do.

I’ve also been puttering along with the Sitcom Chic sweater. I’m still stuck in a stockinette wasteland at the moment, but it’s pretty good tv watching knitting.
