I went to the beach today! Ok, it was a slightly different experience than normal. They don’t plow at all until Memorial Day, so I had to hike in from Route 77, and parts of the access road were still completely snow covered because they’re in the shade. There were also remarkably few people there. And the meadow wasn’t looking very meadow like. But the lack of people translated to a lack of people-generated detritus (except for the three random lobster traps that somehow ended up in the stream). And it was warm enough even with the rather brisk breeze that I was able to leave my coat off. The trip definitely whet my appetite for summer.
