Hampton Beach – New Hampshire

Hampton Beach, New Hampshire

It’s been an absolutely lovely weekend. Temps are in the 50s (or more in the south), and it’s sunny, without a lot of wind. We wandered our way south yesterday, and had the first Flo’s hot dogs of the season before ending up in Hampton Beach, NH. Our initial motivation was a bit of looky-lou-itis – there was a fire that destroyed an entire block during the crazy wind storm we had about a week and half ago, and we were curious to see what that looked like. We apparently weren’t the only ones that needed out of the house, as the place was packed. It was great walking conditions on the beach, and there was actually some pretty heavy surf, which was surprising. I can only assume there’s a storm out to sea, because conditions on land definitely didn’t look like they warranted surf like that. There were even a couple of body-surfers out on one side of the beach, and that’s never a common sight on any New England beach.

So it was a lovely day, and seems to be continuing today. I can totally believe Spring is right around the corner.
