Knitting Notes

barrow socks

I’m doing Kristi Kapur’s Barrow socks, which I got for my first installment of the Three Irish Girls sock yarn club way back when. The pattern calls for knitting on two circs, so I’d been holding it in reserve for when I wanted to try circs. Since doing that magic loop class a couple months ago (yes, I know magic loop and knitting on two circs are different things), I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to trot the pattern out. I’m even using the Three Irish Girls Beckon sock yarn (Silver Bay colorway) that I got with the pattern. And it turns out the circs I have in the size I need have cables that are way too long. I mean, I would probably strangle myself trying to use them too long. So I’m doing this with DPNs, because I’ve been wanting to do this pattern for ages, and I’m not waiting any longer.
