Knitting Notes

Pattern: Lepidoptera Mitts by Allison van Zandt
Yarn: Colinette Jitterburg in the Jay colorway
Needles: size 1.5 DPNs

My weekend craziness is complete, and I have a pair of mitts to contribute to C’s care package. This has to be the fastest I’ve ever completed a project, and the split pad of my left index finger is proof that I probably shouldn’t work this fast on a regular basis. Still, it’s good to know I have it in me.

The pattern is incredibly simple, and I’ll be keeping it on hand for other last minute gifts. I also enjoyed working with the yarn, but it is on the stiffer side of what I enjoy working with. The color definitely makes up for it. It’s hard to see above, but there are some really cool elements of greens and purples among the blue that I just love.

I have a fair amount of the yarn left, so I’m thinking of doing up a baby hat/bootie or sock set to have on hand for future gift-giving.
