Among other stops on a rather busy jaunt down south, we managed to get to Hamilton House on Saturday. The rain was holding off, just barely, when we were there.
This is probably the earliest we’ve ever been to see the garden, and it’s just starting to wake up for the year. There are a few bulbs, mostly gone by, but many of the perennials are up, but not yet ready to bloom. There are a few outliers you can see above, and there were some mini iris that are probably blooming today, but weren’t quite ready to show themselves in time for our trip.
It was also the quietest I’ve ever the site. There were only two gardeners there working, and with the almost rainy weather, it was lovely, and quiet. A perfect Spring visit, even if there wasn’t any sun.
Pretty!!!
