Lupine

The final really cool thing about our weekend Downeast was the lupine. They were absolutely out in full while we were driving around, and for some reason, they’re better viewed up there. It’s not that we don’t have them here in the south, but they seem to grow better in people’s yards, so you’re more likely to see them when you’re not on the highway (and there isn’t much highway up there.)

The pictures above are a combination of my father’s garden, the side of the road in Franklin, and the side of the Loop Road in Acadia National Park. The camera can’t quite do them justice, but they sure were lovely to see.
