Pattern: Pearl-Barred Scallop Scarf by Cheri Borden
Yarn: Sanguine Gryphon Bugga in the Cowkiller colorway
Needles: Size 8 circs
Christmas gift #3 (for my mother) is done!! This actually completes everything I’ve planned to do for Christmas – after this, everything else is gravy.
The pattern for this scarf is super easy, but of a long enough pattern repeat to keep me from getting completely bored. I like the final look, and it doesn’t require blocking.
The yarn definitely lived up to the wonderful to work with hype – it’s so soft, and the finished fabric is just lovely. But, I found the weight oddly difficult to deal with. I had a really hard time coming up with a pattern to use with the yarn (this was attempt #3). If it were a fingering weight, I’d be back for more in a heartbeat, but since it’s not, I’m not sure I’ll be in a hurry to use it again.
In other news, I’ve been working on hexi-puffs for the Bee Keeper’s Quilt, and in cleaning out my used sock yarn, realized I had way too much Knit Picks Imagination left to just make hexi-puffs, so I knocked out another sock yarn baby hat for my stash.
