With the year winding down, it occurred to me that if I really want to include the Palimpsest shawl in my 2012 projects (I did finish it in August), I really should block it before the end of the year, so that happened yesterday.

Since I don’t have enough blocking mats, I ended up doing it on my bed, and folding up one end. That did make one thing immediately obvious – my stretchy bind off, for which I did go up a couple of needle sizes, was not stretchy. So, if I do this kind of pattern again, I will be researching something that will bind off better. (I can’t take it out and do this one over – I tried to find the end again, and it’s very well hidden.)
