Due to the squash carnage, I went out looking for greens yesterday. I planted some pretty looking red Swiss chard, and some seed arugula and lettuce. I also prepped the part of the bed that had peas in it for garlic, though that won’t go in until October.
I may add some more lettuce and arugula later – I did leave in the newer of the two squash plants. I’m not sure it has enough time to do anything, but I figure I have a few weeks to wait and see. If nothing happens, it goes, and more seeds go in.

I’ve been harvesting tomatoes for about two weeks now – here are the first ones I’ve remembered to take pictures of. I also pulled two poblanos, and two eggplant.
