This is a great conclusion to the The Herald Spy trilogy – Mags and Amily definitely come into their own as the King’s Spy and the King’s Own.
There’s a nasty bully in Haven – he or she is targeting the women of Haven that have dared to set themselves up in positions better than or equal to men, which of course puts Amily right in the bully’s crosshairs. What starts out with letters quickly escalates.
The villain is set up in such a way that you know vaguely who it is, but it does have to be narrowed down, and the steps Mags and Amily have to take to find them make for great reading. I’m definitely enjoying their story. I’m just a little bummed that the next trilogy currently only has one book published.

Wait, what is the next trilogy??
It’s called Family Spies – the first book is called The Hills have Spies. The second book will be out in July.
Ooooh, I didn’t realize Lackey was writing more spy books beyond the Herald Spy trilogy. I’m going to order my copies now!
