The Secret Lives of Color – Kassia St. Clair

This book covers the history of 75 different shades and hues of colors, grouped by specific colors, with an overview of each. (And as the author notes, narrowing it down to 75 was an arbitrary choice. I wish someone had paid her to do an encyclopedia length work.)

This is formatted in a way that you could dip in and out of the book, but I ended up reading through it as quickly as I could, because it was just so interesting!

We picked this book up after hearing the author on a podcast – she sold the idea really well there.
