This is a fun read, continuing the story of the daughters of several very interesting Victorian men (Jekyll/Hyde, Frankenstein, Moreau and Rappinicci). In this story, the ladies are contacted by Mary Jekyll’s former governess, Mina Murray, to rescue her new charge – Lucinda Van Helsing. So yes, we now have vampires, and the action moves to the Continent.
I really enjoyed this book. The action’s split for a good portion of it, so there’s lots of points of view to follow. And I really enjoyed the move out of England. There is a lot of action, and I think you’d get more enjoyment out of it if you knew at least some of the references – I’m glad I had experience with most of them.
The book ends on a cliffhanger, and I’m definitely interested to see where things go next.
