This is an interesting book. It follows Ivy – the non magic twin. Her sister Tabitha is the magic one, who basically left the family when they were young, and in whose shadow Ivy has since lived. Ivy is now a PI, and is called to the school where Tabitha teaches to investigate a murder.
Because this is told through Ivy’s viewpoint, magic is mostly incidental to the story, which I both liked and didn’t like. The emotional world of the school, of Ivy and Tabitha’s relationship, and some other relationships that developed, were where I really liked this book. But something about the lack of magic, something I can’t pin down, is bugging me a bit. Still, a good read, with a mystery that kept me guessing until the end.
