Garden Notes

This is as complete as this garden should be for a while – I’ve planted all the remaining seedlings, and am not missing anything I wanted to get.

Here’s the herb garden, and the insane dahlia experiment.

The herb garden will not be as big as I planned. I just didn’t get the bed laid out early enough, so I’ll need to work on getting that better situated before I can add more to it.

This is the front bed. We ended up going with a red, yellow and blue (purple) annual theme. Naturally, that pink salvia showed up to disrupt that. But that’s ok. We figure this is work in progress. The previous owners covered this with landscaping fabric, so while I’ve punched holes on that for this year’s planting, for the fall, we plan on pulling out the mulch, pulling up all the fabric, and then dumping a ton of compost on here. Eventually, it’ll be a perennial bed, but we’ll definitely keep it going with annuals while we slowly fill that in.
