I realized I haven’t posted much about the garden lately. It’s been going nicely. The tomatoes have been doing well – we’ve got a bunch of the brandywine cross, and per usual, there are more cherry tomatoes than I know what to do with.
I have a fair number of delicata squash hanging out on the vine until that either dies back or we have a frost. I’m also in the same waiting game for the shelling beans.
The greens are doing ok. These are where I can see that I still have some work to do to make this soil better for vegetable crops. For a first year, they really are doing great, but I don’t have Swiss chard coming out my ears like I have the past few years. (Planting the cosmos around that was not the wisest thing to do, and will not happen again.)

The dahlias have been fun. The last of the colors finally bloomed while I was away last week, so all the impulse tubers I bought are viable. Here’s hoping I can keep them over the winter properly.
