Yarn: Lana Plantae Rambouillet Fingering in the Cochineal & Madder and Ontheround Nimble Socks in the Barred Owl and Narwhal colorways
Needles: Size 1.5 and 2.5 DPNs
I did enjoy making these socks, and this foray into colorwork was definitely a good experience. But I have to say, I do like doing top down socks better. I’m at least ok with the cast on now, but I’m just not a huge fan of the short row heel. I love a good heel flap, so I think that’s a sign of what I should try to stick with.
There was a fair amount of dye matter flaking out of the Lana Plantae when I wound it, so I may live to regret putting it in with some white based yarn. But it was nice yarn to work with. It’s a little bit on the courser side, but I did get it for the color more than anything else.
