Ruby Fever – Ilona Andrews

I really enjoyed this – the last story in Catalina’s arc. There’s a terrible attack on a government figure, and the Warden of Texas ends up out of commission as well, which puts Catalina in charge of the investigation. Turns out Alessandro’s enemy Arkan is behind it all, and a Russian prince manages to get involved in the action.

I read these books for the Baylor family – I just thoroughly enjoy their interactions, and all of the people they manage to pull into their orbit. A few loose threads are tied up in this book, but there’s enough left open to have a trilogy for Arabella whenever the authors are able to get to it. (Sounds like not anytime soon, so hopefully I’ll at least get an Innkeeper book in the meantime.)
