Pattern: Hermione Hearts Ron by Christy Aylesworth
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Silky Merino in the Stonechat colorway
Needles: Size 3 and 4 circs, and size 4 DPNs
The last time I made this pattern, due to a complete misunderstanding of the yarn I was using, I did a sport weight pattern with worsted yarn, and it turned out to be a lovely, thick fabric that I really wished I hadn’t already committed to giving away. So I figured I could totally replicate this with a DK weight yarn from my stash. Well, I must have created a unicorn last time, because there’s no way this hat will fit on an adult sized head. So this is going in the gift stash, and it’s back to the drawing board, and another stash yarn to create a second hat for my mother.
But hey, I did use up another chunk of a yarn I’d had for a while, to the point where I’m ok using the rest in a scrap project, and I did enjoy knitting this up, so I don’t feel like I wasted time.
