Damn! We picked this book up in July, and for some reason, both the BF and I keep forgetting it’s there when we go to pick up a new book. I finally broke the curse, but now neither my BF or my mother have read it, and it’s just so spoilery, and I have therefore no one to talk to about it!
The last book ended with Orion shoving El out the door of the Scholomance as a mawmouth headed for both of them, and so this book picks up when she lands on the other side, but in Wales, with her mother. So things pick up sprinting.
I loved this book – it wrapped up some world building that I didn’t even know I needed wrapped up in such a way that my head is still spinning. In some ways, everything you think you knew about how this world functions is turned on its head, but at the same time, if you really think about how the story has been going up until now, what happens makes perfect sense. It was an amazing ride – definitely the wizard school series we all deserve.
