Spring Wildflowers of the Northeast – Carol Gracie

I found the summer edition of this book first, and had this one on my list, but hadn’t ever seen it in stores. Well, it just achieved bargain book status – I grabbed it at the first store I saw it at, and then promptly saw it at several others.

That said, I would have happily paid full price for this – both of these are great books. The author has done her best to include information for both botanists and non-botanists, and I found it all very enjoyable, and very readable. She’s got interesting tidbits on sister species, and even occasionally ventures into cousins in other regions, if it brings in a good narrative. Definitely a good, full read if you like wildflowers.
