I’ve faced the two sweaters that I dropped earlier this year because they had both pissed me off, in separate ways.
The first was the Orbits sweater, the remains of which you see above. Unfortunately, there’s colorwork in the sleeves. And I knit sleeves with DPNs. And the tension on the floats was not good. I did buy some shorter circular needles earlier this year in the hopes of getting around that issue, but I dropped this sweater because I really knew that that wasn’t going to fix it. So, first thing on Sunday evening, I gave the sleeve a go with the new needles. And fairly quickly confirmed my fears. So frogging this was my work break project for Monday.
I did take a look through this designer’s catalog and found another design I like that does not have colorwork on the sleeves, and still uses fingering weight yarn. I have the appropriate yardage. So I will using this yarn to make that sweater, once I clean up the rest of my project backlog.
So I’ve moved on to Summer Fjord. That was easier to fix – I’d twisted the join between the back and front. I had already frogged that up the twist point, so I just had to get that back together, and pay attention this time. That is going along quite nicely – I’m to the point where I was able to join the two contrasting yarn colors for stripes. So this one will get done.
