I planted up two of the three peppers today, and the zinnias. I’m trying to get things planted up as soon as they get true leaves – one of the peppers hasn’t reached that yet, and the talinum and gem marigolds are still very small.
I gave up on the sweet peas and nigella. The nigella was too big – I couldn’t keep it wet enough. That really needs direct sowing.
I’m not sure what happened to the sweet peas. It is older seed, so I’m going to go ahead and get rid of that packet. But, I’m not sure I kept them moist enough. If I try it again with the toilet paper tubes, I need to find a way to keep the moisture in better, at least until they sprout. I think I’ll keep an eye out for seedling this year. I’m not sure those are readily available, but if they are, that might be something that is better to let someone else start for me.
