Garden Notes

The creme de cognac dahlia bloomed! This was the one dahlia that I bought last year, that was the saddest little tuber you ever did see. It at least leafed out nicely, but it never did bloom. I figured if it did survive the winter, I’d give it another go this year. And look at it! Such a lovely color combo. None of the other dahlias are even in bud yet.

Things are looking pretty good out back. The netting on the greenhouse isn’t bad. I did catch two cabbage moths in there a few days ago, so it’s not perfect, but the leaves are fairly unchewed. And I’m quite sure it was good for what was in there in some of the 90-degree days we’ve gotten recently.

Everything else is still pretty much in growing mode – I think we’ll be in full in jungle mode in the not to distant future.
