I suspect you’re not going to love this book if you’re not already a Penric and Desdemona fan. Not a lot happens to further any real sort of plot, but it’s a lovely little slice of life for Pen’s family.
Wyn is apprenticed to his uncle, and recognizes a demon possessed ox on their worksite, so gets his uncle to call in his father. And Pen decides to bring his daughters – Rina and Otta and her demon Atto – along for the ride. The kids are all growing up, and the little action that does occur in this story is there to help them all figure out what they want to do when they grow up. It’s a super sweet story, and was over too soon.
