Yesterday was the open house day for Historic New England, so for something a little different, we headed up to Wiscasset, and Castle Tucker. This house was built in 1807, but maintains quite a bit of furniture and features added in the Victorian era by the Tucker family. It’s a really interesting place to visit.
It was also neat to stop in Wiscasset. We’re usually just passing through (and complaining about the backed up traffic), but there’s a surprising amount going on in this little village. We’re definitely planning to go back, if only to check out the other Historic New England property there, since we also bit the bullet and finally became members.
