Knitting Notes

Summer Fjord Sweater

So this happened. I could have sworn I checked well enough for twisting when I cast on the middle stitching, but I think the back was actually twisted, so when I went to join the front and back, well. There you go.

So I’ve put this to the side before I tink it back, in the interest of not throwing it out a window.

I’m not really feeling the knitting love this year. I’m hung up on the other sweater I started, since the colorwork sleeves didn’t work out on DPNs. I’ve gotten new, smaller circs to try that again, but I have not been able to motivate myself to try that. And I already ripped out this second sweater from this exact same point so I could go down a size. (This size does at least seem to fit, so far.)

I really want to do some smaller projects, but nothing is really calling my name right now. And I think I shouldn’t have gone after a full coverage, large cross stitch project. It’s big enough to be unwieldy. I did pick it up last night (after I can’t even tell you how long), but I wasn’t really feeling much love there, either. Granted, I am in the middle of color 310 (aka black) hell, so that’s not helping.

I think I may try to get a smaller embroidery project. I have my eye on a couple of different kits, and though they do seem more frivolous (they’re not as useful as a garment or accessory), they’re not hard to store.
