It being so hot, we ended the day in the air conditioning, and checked out the Peabody Essex Museum, which has a very eclectic collection ranging from local maritime art to the art of the Far East. (The roots of the museum are the East India Marine Company, founded by local ship captains.)
It’s an interesting place, well worth a stop in Salem.
