Plum Cardamom Jam

Monday’s canning adventure (yes, I’m a little late to the post) was Plum Cardamom Jam from Liana Krissoff’s Canning for a New Generation. I had the above, plus a nearly full half pint jar to sample.

It’s really good jam. Like eat out of the jar with a spoon good. It’s not overly sweet, and the cardamom lends a nice note. I did have to chop four pounds of prune plums to make it (it was what I was able to get that was grown locally), so I may have to source larger plums grown in Maine. Then again, it’s so good, I may just put up with the four pounds of prune plums again.
