This is a fun series starter. Jay is starting work with the hidden magical society that manages magic in England. He’s paired with Ves – she seems a bit wild (colored hair and all) and he isn’t, but as we settle in, we start finding out a lot more about these new partners. They get caught up in an issue with the local trolls, and have to go against management to help find a cure for what’s looking more and more like a plague.
This is a short book – I really like the world building, and while it is set in a modern time, it’s relatively timeless. Definitely interested to see what comes next.
