This is a lovely novella. Tobias is the local wild man in the woods, having lived in a small cottage for four hundred years. When a new owner to the local manor comes across Tobias’ small cabin, he wakes up powers that have lain dormant for many years, and throws both mens’ lives into new directions.
This is not a long tale, but the amount of worldbuilding the author brought into it was phenomenal. It’s so atmospheric. The ending is a bit rushed – I’m happy there’s another book, because there’s definitely more story to tell.
