Casco Bay, Maine

Sunday’s adventure, for something close to home, but a little different, was the Mail Boat Run – three hours cruising Casco Bay. We packed a lunch, and enjoyed the scenery and the cool breeze.

We actually managed to see a seal, who kindly did a full length dive for us, and plenty of sea birds. We got back into town in the thick of the Lobster Boat races. We actually arrived just in time for the tug boat muster, which was fairly amusing. Apparently the newest tug in the city fleet can go as fast backwards as forwards, so they were showing off a bit in the muster. All and all, it was a lovely day.
