This week’s haul was: Swiss chard, kale, salad mix, turnips, scallions and garlic scapes. We didn’t have garlic scapes last year, so that’s new and exciting. We also had beets as an option, as apparently it’s shaping up to be a very good beet year, but only the red ones are ready at the moment, so I had to pass.
I can add to that a lovely harvest of bright lights chard from my own garden yesterday. My tomato has even more flowers, and now, my pepper is blooming as well. Even one of my lavenders looks like it’s thinking about blooming, and I wasn’t expecting anything from them this year. What a lovely summer!
