This is a collection of previously published stories in the Kate Daniels universe. Fortunately, I hadn’t read any before. There are a few original stories, a few that don’t actually involve Kate or any of the regular crew, and it ends with several vignettes from Curran’s point of view.
I really enjoyed Julie’s story, where she basically gets tricked into giving a shit about a school after she’s been through several of them. I’ve always liked how Kate chose to “mother” Julie, and this was a good one.
I wouldn’t start with this book – you really need the background of the main series to appreciate most of it, but if you do have that background, these are some nice stories to round out the world.
