Pattern: Verdigris Mitts by Romi Hill
Yarn: St-Denis Nordique
Needles: Size 1.5 DPNs
My last bit of Christmas knitting is accomplished, fortunately just time to stow away in C’s luggage on his way to CA to see my sister.
I do like this pattern, but there are a number of fussy details I skipped for my sanity: the cast on, the cast off, and the slanted increases. I was still quite pleased with how the pattern came out without those.
I do like the yarn. It was mainly chosen for the color, and was a little heavier weight than I would have gone for by initial preference. (I really wanted some gorgeous Quince and Co Tern yarn in such a beautiful purple, but there was only one skein left…) For not being my first choice, it makes a lovely, sprongy fabric, and I would be more than happy to knit with it again.
All and all, it was a successful Christmas knitting season, but I do confess I’m glad it’s through.
