Knitting Notes

I swear the sleeves on sweaters using this yarn are cursed. I was really trucking along on this (the Moments sweater) – had finished the boring parts of the body, and decide to dive into the sleeves. I was starting to picture myself wearing it this Fall.

Despite adding about four inches to the sleeve pattern, this is still about three inches too short. I’ve already ripped it out.

I also suspect I used the wrong larger needle size, so I need to go back and carefully check my needles before I start a new version of this sleeve. So momentum crushed on this for now.

I did already have another project going, so this will be getting some extra love for a bit. This is the Octopus beanie, by Cathy Dobson, using the Hawthorn and Thistle Farm Jacob wool I picked up a couple years ago at the Common Ground Fair. The two colors she used in her sample are almost identical to the two colors I have (and it’s the same weight), so it seemed like it was meant to be.
