Today’s haul was: broccoli, a tiny zucchini, the cutest little pattypan squash, string beans, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cantaloupe and fennel. The string beans are already blanched, and are currently curing in the freezer on a cookie sheet for an hour before I pack them away.
The only notable thing I made with last week’s haul was gazpacho, based on a recipe from Epicurious. I took the very lazy way out and just pureed everything, and let it stew together overnight. The result was delightful, and very much appreciated on the last day of our only official heat wave of the summer.
