We had another (real) frost over Saturday night while we were gone. So the dahlias were definitely done. I normally front load my three days in a week in the office, but I stayed home Monday so I could bring them all inside. I’m glad I did – we’ve had a couple more frosty mornings over the past week.
The only one of the tubers I have immediate concerns for is Rejmans Firecracker. Unfortunately, the drainage holes in that pot were clogged, and I didn’t notice until it got pretty water logged in the last couple of fall rain storms. I only kept one piece of that tuber, and it’s pretty small.

I boxed up as many as I could on Friday, but ran out of boxes, so after a run on Friday night, I finished those up this morning. Everything is now stowed out in the garage – they should be fine there until at least December, at which point I’ll have to start up the low temp watch.
It’s a good thing I didn’t pre-order more tubers this year. This is a pretty good amount for storage. I’ll need to try not to go above this, unless I find something really special.
