A Killer Stitch – Maggie Sefton

I don’t normally go out of my way to read mysteries, especially knitting-based mysteries, but this one had a bright and shiny cover and was prominently placed at the used bookstore, and so caught my eye. It ended up being a perfect beach read (or in my case, balcony read).

The book is pretty much a pure fluff story, with lots of wandering around yarn stores and looking at yarn interspersed with the actual story. I don’t think I could ever recommend this to anyone that doesn’t dabble in one or more of the fiber arts, because they’d probably fall asleep every time the action ends up back at the yarn store.

The mystery also wasn’t very mysterious. You knew there was a twist coming, and it was no twist at all by the time it showed up. Still, as I said, good beach read.
