I was in Rochester, NY this past weekend for my cousin’s wedding. There was a lot of visiting with family on the trip, but we did manage to get out and about in Rochester a bit, including a visit to the George Eastman House. Eastman was the founder of the Kodak company, so there are wonderful collections of photographs and equipment and the history of photography there. I highly recommend a visit there if you’re in Rochester.
However, since I’m me, what made me particularly happy there were the gardens. There are three (four if you count the conservatory in the house, which instantly made me jealous). I was pretty much in heaven. Their peonies were in bloom (they’re barely sprouting here), and the poppies had just started to open. It was just lovely, and here’s a sampling of the pictures I took:
