I had to travel to MA to find them, but I actually saw crocus and snowdrops in person this weekend! Spring really is coming!
I was in MA for the fourth(?) annual Piemas celebration. I got to hang out with friends, and cute children, and cute cats. And, there was chicken pot pie, sloppy joe pie, spinach pie, goat cheese tart, evil pie, berry pie, lemon meringue pie, pumpkin pie, blueberry pie and more pie that I can’t even remember through the pie overload. It was fabulous. I’m still full.
Since we were in MA, we stopped for our biennial Trader Joe’s stock up. This trip’s theme seems to be Asian themed nuts. We’ve already polished off the Tom Yum nut mix, which had the most amazingly complex flavor profile. We’ve still got a full bag of lime and Thai spiced cashews to go. I so wish we’d get a TJ’s up here.
And to top off the gastronomical theme of this weekend, we stopped for our first Flo’s hot dogs of the season for lunch, which we were able to eat outside, in the sun. Sure, it was only in the high 40s, but it felt lovely and warm, and Spring was in the air!
