Knitting Notes

I finally finished my first Moonflower sock. I really do like the pattern, and it’s really easy to remember, but man, it takes forever! I really like patterns with longer repeats. I feel like I’m getting more accomplished with a longer repeat, and the forward motion actually helps me go faster. I’m taking way longer on these socks than I really should be.

As counterpoint, I finally cast on the second sleeve for my Embossed Leaves sweater. That’s chugging along nicely, I think because it’s such a bigger gauge, it gives me a better feeling of accomplishment than the socks. I seem to remember being more annoyed by having to count increase rows for the first sleeve than I am for this one. I guess it’s all about perspective.

Since I have about five thousand things on the needles at the moment, I’ve resolved that I can’t cast on anything other than a Sockdown sock until I’ve finished another project (preferably a scarf, since I have two of those going at the moment). I’ve definitely got to whittle down the contents of my knitting bag before I start planning anything else big.
