This is a Lolo hat, by Jared Flood. I’m using the Twillingate Farms alpaca that L bought me. I have two skeins of that – one’s basically worsted weight, the other is fingering. I only have 50 yards of the worsted, and I really wasn’t able to find any patterns I could use for that amount that I liked. So I will be using the fingering yarn held double to finish this off.
The coolest thing so far about this pattern is that I finally figured out the provisional crochet cast on! I don’t know what it was about the instructions in this pattern in particular, but it finally clicked! We’ll still need to see how easy it is to unravel before I decide if I really like it, but so far, so good.
