Maine – The North Wind and the Sea

Adventures close to home. Once the snow’s gone, we try to get out as much as possible. I have family Downeast, so I’m able to do longer trips up there, on occasion. (Someday, when I win the lottery and have all the time in the world, it’ll be more often.)

Two Lights State Park – Cape Elizabeth, ME
Had a lovely walk at Two Lights on Sunday. It’s the kind of weather where as long as you’re in the sun, it’s glorious. The reason we were out there was to stop at Kettle Cove on the way out and snag some seaweed for the garden.

Checked off a bucket list item this week. It’s been a very active solar flare year, and there was a flare on Thursday that managed to cut through the light pollution so that we could actually see the aurora from our back deck. My family is filtering into town – my sister and younger niece arrived a week ago Thursday (younger niece spent this week at her first sleep away camp). So the photo taking at our outings has been a bit reduced – I’ve been concentrating on tide pooling. But the beach is there, and is lovely!
