This was a fun book. Ada von Hasenburg is the fifth child of one of the ruling houses of the known universe. She’s therefore somewhat expendable, and mostly useful to her father in who she might marry. She doesn’t approve of his choice for her, and has been on the run for a couple years now. Our story begins when her erstwhile fiancé happens to catch her in the company of a rogue who is not at all what he seems, and we’re off the races.
If I’m being honest, this is total competency porn. Ada’s been raised with the very best, and absolutely knows how to get out of any situation. (Buying her way out is the last option.) But it’s fun competency porn (and becomes a fairly spicy romance).
I’ll continue the series – looks like the other two books follow two of her sister, so it should be some fun variety.
