This is a grouping of short stories about Asil, one of the older werewolves that lives in the Marrok’s pack in Montana. A “concerned friend” sets him up on a series of blind dates, and chaos ensues.
Asil’s with the Marrok because he can’t trust his wolf anymore, and believes himself to be a danger to others. In the Alpha and Omega books, you get to see his progression away from that, and these stories really bring that home.
The blind dates start out innocently, but it’s clear some greater power has hijacked that agenda and is going to use Asil to do some good, and each of the dates are crazy manifestations of that. I don’t know that coming to this book without some backstory will work, but I had the backstory and very much enjoyed it.
