Patterns: Moments by Rachel Illsley
Yarn: BC Garn Bio Shetland GOTS in the Parma and Pink Lavender colorways
Needles: Size 4 circs and Size 2.5 circs and DPNs
This feels like the end an era. I started with this yarn back in December 2023, with the same designer’s Orbits pattern, which I ended up frogging because the sleeves involved colorwork, and I couldn’t get it to work with DPNs.
I still love her patterns, so picked another one with plainer sleeves. (I did end up adding the colorwork at the wrists, but I could have skipped it.) I also managed to use circs for all of the sleeves except the ribbing, so that helped a lot with the tension. It got a little magic loopy towards the end, but it worked.
Per usual, I had to add some length to both the body and the arms. The body still ended up a little more cropped than I strictly like, but it’ll work. The sleeves are perfect.
The yarn is nice. It’s not the softest yarn ever, but it’s not too bad. And it should be warm.
